On August the 28th we will battle it out against local crew WHOMP, to see who can claim the first heat of Section 8’s yearly DJ Battle. We are calling upon our local fans to come down and show some support!

Inspired by the epic parties that rock our containers weekly; Battle 8 is an all out celebration of the local talent in our city and the remarkable vibes they can bring!
Skills and music aside, teams are publicly voted on the feel-good atmosphere they can create; this is a no-holds barred party competition that bought out the best from Melbourne’s party people! Eight of Melbourne’s finest and most accomplished DJ crews, teams, musicians and cliques battle it out over seven Sundays for the honour of being crowned the inaugral Battle 8 Champion, and having their name engraved permamently on the specially crafted Battle 8 Trophy.

Whomp Music crew have been on the scene for the past 4 years throwing big bass music events but their team members have been running the DJ game for over 10 years in Melbourne and with no signs of slowing down.
Notable spinners KODIAK KID, Dj Wasabi and DJ B.TWO promise a heady brew of slick turntable cuts, classic party tunes and bass-heavy remixes.
These guys know how to do-the-do and make people dance with stacks of festival and club experience behind them; what surprises can they bust out of their sleeves?!

Uncomfortable Beats have been rocking clubs and stereos with a solid string of releases since 2011, pushing diverse underground sounds and artists at various residencies across Melbourne. Made up of ABLE8,Skahna SK, Bevin Campbell, U-Wish and Walla C, the crew showcases a wide palate of sounds that can range anywhere from Hip-Hop and left field electronic beats to Grime, Dubstep, Jungle and half time creations. Expect a mix of original productions, exclusive remixes, turntablism, guest vocalists and whatever else can get them across the line!
